Rostock, Grevenmacher (Duchy of Luxembourg), 04\/29\/2025<\/strong> \u2013 H2APEX from Rostock and 100% subsidiary of H2APEX Group SCA (ISIN LU0472835155), a leading developer and operator of green hydrogen electrolysis plants for the decarbonization of industry, infrastructure, and the mobility sector, is accelerating the development of chemical hydrogen storage solutions through its own subsidiary AKROS Energy GmbH. Effective May 1, 2025, Johannes Emigholz has been appointed CEO of the company and will thus be responsible for the management of AKROS Energy together with CTO Jonas Massa (see photo).<\/p>\n

\"\"Johannes Emigholz brings more than 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur and executive in the software industry, where he has built expertise in leading B2B companies through all development phases, from strategy development to scaling to successful exits. Emigholz is known for his ability to transform innovative technologies into sustainable product strategies and build successful teams.<\/p>\n

Since its founding, H2APEX has been working on the development of chemical storage solutions for hydrogen. In 2024, this R&D area was converted into its own subsidiary, AKROS GmbH. Six patents for chemical storage have been generated since then, including two in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis in Rostock (LIKAT). The methods developed by H2APEX and AKROS have significant advantages over other chemical storage solutions: They are free of hazardous substances, have low energy requirements, and are unproblematic to store.
